blog something while waiting for data import to SQL. 2 more weeks and i’m done. This weekend will be a crazy one: all projects and papers need to be finished by Monday, 2 presentations coming up next week. My workload usually lines up like this towards week 10 of the quarter and the final week is always a piece of cake. Then I’ll have a week off after my graduation since my OPT won’t start till June 6. I was planning to go to CA on this week before (since i broke so many promises already), then my friends are back from NYC and i should have save some money for this summer, so mission impossible!!! Sorry friends, i’ll make it up sometimes when i have a chance (see, i’m not a good planner, keep changing my plan and nothing works out eventually. Hmm, should wake up and adjust this attitude).
I liked my presentation with Mike about VoIP last tuesday a lot. We learned a lot and we showed them a lot what we’ve got. Never had such a long presentation like this one. Mike is really smart, makes me more confident working with him as opposed to my other group (you lamee!!!). It’s interesting that we presented VoIP in the afternoon for that class, then prof. Bruce gave another presentation of the same topic in the evening also. But his speech is more in depth with the integration of VoIP into the entire global IP network, a very interesting 2 hour speech.
hehe, i’ve had a lot of crazy thoughts past weeks. Talking to my bro that i wanted to make vending machines and hoped that he could help me to do it (he’s engineering). I told him i would buy the machines made by the students in VN as i read an article about it, then later on we could improve it as smart machines that have more functionalities than a native vending machine. He just laughed and didn’t agree, saying that there’s no way we have market for this one as VNese people are not used to it, and whole bunch of reasons chain to it.
Then i wanted to make t-shirt, well not really i make it, but i want to provide an online store where people can customize and purchase after they are satisfied. They can see comments from previous buyers and propose new ideas if they’d like to. The t-shirts must be extremely t-shirt :D, colorful and must have funny slogans or funky topics on it. Slogans will target today events (such as Cau Van Thanh, corruptions, schools, students, HIV, tourism, singers….) and must be educational objective. Also, it has to be cheap (35,000-40,000VND is acceptable). Basically i provide the means, you make what you like. My bro laughed again and told that i was deadly wrong. Students now like brand name clothing, this sort of thing is not their interest. He’s probably right coz i remembered an articles about that once, but he could be wrong too coz market has multiple communities and not all of them are alike. I like brand name stuff, but that doesn’t mean i dislike cheap t-shirt as long as it looks nice and fits me well. Let’s say I can put on an extremely nice t-shirt, made by a famous brand to go to a party but i’d like to have just a normal one to go to class or social activities. By doing (thinking) that way, i accidentally advertise the t-shirt right?
Anyway, still in discussion with him. He’s always a funny and critic person to talk to.
Import done, last record broken, no big deal. Nice weekend people !!
